Building heroes

Platinum@BCN | Barcelona, Spain

Wouldn’t you want to work in the most sustainable office building in the world? 🌎

It doesn’t get better than Platinum@BCN by Barcelonesa de Inmuebles, located in the Poblenou district of Barcelona. We bring you the heroes who made it possible.

In this week’s #buildinghero is the highest-ever LEED Platinum-certification (101 points):

⚒️ Constructed using 70% locally-sourced materials, with 100% of the wood approved by the FSC. 87% of the waste generated during construction was recycled.

⚡ Covered by a ‘double-skin’ layer of aluminium for thermal insulation with 44% energy savings & sourcing 100% of electricity from 722 solar panels & geothermal energy.

🚰 46% water savings by reusing greywater & a rooftop rainwater retention system, complimented by low-water consumption sanitary fittings & taps.

🌳 2,745 m² of accessible outdoor space & an interior lit by low-power LED lighting, access to quality views, natural lighting & high indoor air quality.

Amazing!
