In honour of one of history's greatest engineers, Isambard Kingdom Brunel, this building gives his legacy a sustainable twist in the 21st century!Brunel Building, completed in 2019, is a 17-storey structure overlooking the Grand Union Canal and situated opposite of London’s Paddington Tube station. A remarkable feat showcasing the combined efforts of industry#buildingheroes, Brunel achieved aBREEAM Official2014 ‘Excellent’ rating, aWiredScore‘Platinum’ rating and a LEED ‘Gold’ rating 🏆It's not just all in the looks - Brunel stands out for these and other eco-friendly features:♻️ More than 98% of construction waste was recycled, with the aluminium used for the façade containing 65% recycled content.⚡ Designed to achieve a 71% improvement in operational energy consumption over a typical office building, as well as recycling of grey water from showers used to flush the WCs, thus reducing potable water demand by about 30%.🏥 A high-level health and wellbeing review was executed to ensure the building was WELL enabled should a tenant wish to achieve the label for their fitout areas.Outstanding building!PreviousNext
