Building heroes

UCL Student Centre | London, UK

What better way to inspire future impact makers than surrounding them with innovative spaces and tools to change the world? 👩‍🎓🌱

Situated on Gordon Street in UCL’s prestigious central campus, the Student Centre offers diverse learning spaces, various types of individual study and group collaboration environments, along with 1000 new ‘study seats’ – making it the focal point for studying and university events. The Centre’s high quality design integrates flexible spaces and utilises the latest sustainable technologies.

Outperforming regulatory and planning requirements, it achieved a BREEAM Official ‘Outstanding’ 🏆 rating at final certification, a result matched by only a handful of buildings across the country. This is due in part to its excellent building fabric performance with natural ventilation; zero-carbon technologies such as ground source cooling and a large solar array; and use of circular economy principles via low impact, highly durable building materials 🌟
