Malmö Live | Malmö, Sweden

An all-in-one concert, congress and hotel facility takes the stage as one of Sweden’s most sustainable cultural attractions 🎭

Completed in 2015 as a major municipal transformation project in the city of Malmö, Malmö Live has contributed greatly to the development of the city by attracting tourists and providing thousands of job opportunities. Three buildings join together to form a whole, with the congress housing up to 1,500 people, the concert hall seating 1,600 spectators and the hotel offering 445 rooms.

Sustainability was woven into the project from the beginning, helping it achieve a LEED Platinum certification 🏆 Here are just a few of the features making Malmö Live one of the most vibrant and eco-friendly venues in the region:

🔥 A combination of the use of local geothermal, solar energy and wind power, excellent air tightness and energy-efficient installations throughout.

♻️ Materials with low emissions were implemented in the project and the target for recycling of waste was 97.5%.

🕊️ Green roofs contributing to the effort to tie together the green lines between the center and Västra Hamnen, facilitating the movement and populations of birds and insects. A birdhouse was also mounted on the tallest tower to attract endangered bird species.

Cheers to these and all other contributors!
