Het hello energy ontwikkelingsteam werkt met een 'dark horse agile framework' genaamd 'Shape Up'. De Shape Up methode beschrijft de specifieke processen die het productontwikkelingsteam gebruikt om zinvolle productfuncties te vormen, te implementeren en te bouwen. Het geeft teams specifieke technieken om de risico's en onbekende factoren in elke fase van de productontwikkeling aan te pakken met als uiteindelijk doel een geweldig product op tijd te leveren.
Shape Up works with so-called “cycles” for development. These are usually a little bigger than your standard 2-3 week sprint in the well-known Scrum framework. At hello energy, we work with six-week cycles. These cycles consist of two parts, a Build Cycle and a Quality Time.
Het eerste deel is de Build Cycle. Hier hebben we een absolute focus op ontwikkeling. We ontwikkelen nieuwe features of veranderen bestaande features over een periode van 4 weken. Binnen deze Build Cycle geldt één regel: er zijn geen onderbrekingen toegestaan en 100% van de tijd is gereserveerd voor productontwikkeling. Het doel van de Build Cycle is het afmaken en uitbrengen van een werkstuk. Om ervoor te zorgen dat we gaan releasen werken we met een vaste tijd en een variabele scope. Dit betekent dat we de omvang van het werk binnen onze Build Cycle kunnen veranderen om ervoor te zorgen dat we iets zinvols kunnen uitbrengen.
The Quality Cycle is, as you might expect, all about the quality of our product. We use these two weeks as a cool-down period from the previous Build Cycle. We work on minor adjustments, technical improvements, code refactoring and general maintenance.
Wij geloven dat deze manier van werken ons zal helpen om ons te concentreren op de geleidelijke uitbreiding van onze productervaring. Door tijd te besteden aan focus, zullen we elke Build Cycle een betere hello energy creëren. En daarmee zullen we onze klanten ondersteunen op hun reis naar energiepositieve gebouwen.
